Training Practice
The Crouch Oak Family Practice is an accredited training practice. We have been involved for many years in the post-graduate training of fully qualified doctors who wish to enter general practice.
These doctors are called GP registrars and work in the practice, under the supervision of one of our GP trainers, for 12 months as part of their specialist GP training. We also train doctors in the second year of a foundation programme which all doctors undertake following qualification. They spend four months in the practice and work with all members of the team.
Currently our main GP trainer is Dr Mohan Kanag.
Occasionally we also have nursing and advanced paramedic students at the practice. You may come across a student working with any member of the practice team. If you do not wish a student to be present during your consultation, please let us know using our online form and your wishes will be respected.
Video-recording consultations
As part of our training and commitment to improving our service, we may video consultations. Any examinations will not be recorded – only the consultation. Your consent will always be sought before this is done. If you do not wish your consultation to be recorded on video we will of course respect your wishes.
