We understand how concerning the recent news about meningitis B is.


If you are experiencing any symptoms of meningitis B, it is very important that you attend A&E immediately.

If you are worried you may have been in contact with someone affected, feel you may be at risk, or have general enquiries about the meningitis B vaccination, please contact UKHSA on 0344 225 3861.

Currently, on the NHS, the meningitis B vaccine is offered as part of routine baby immunisations, with catch-up available up to 2 years old, and for individuals who are severely immunosuppressed (such as those with asplenia or on complement inhibitor treatment) with a consultant’s letter. There is no other NHS catch-up programme.
